European Tracks on Photography

INTRODUCTION

The European Tracks on Photography activity aims to maintain cultural dialogue among people and protect cultural heritage by means of the visual arts with a focus on photography. More specifically, it aspires to enable artists and young enthusiasts in Portugal, Italy and Turkey to find ample opportunities to foster encounters. The activity involves exhibitions, shows and workshops.

EXHIBITIONS & WORKSHOPS

For fostering cultural bonds and establishing a social network between the artists, efficient presentation techniques are utilized. Within this context, works of contemporary Portuguese artist José M. Rodrigues were exhibited under the title "Experimental Anthology" in Turkey, reciprocated by an exhibition of 10 contemporary Turkish photograph artists in Portugal. The workshops seek to explore both the art of photography and its techniques and the possible communicative developments and opportunities offered by this art. José M. Rodrigues and an Italian photographer Giusy Pelleriti held a series of workshops in Turkey and Portugal focusing on the history of photography, light and composition, analogue and digital photography as well as a range of other techniques. Turkish photographer and lecturer Orhan Cem Çetin carried out workshops titled "My Distorted Memories - An exploration of the human memory through photography, collected objects and words" in Portugal and in Italy.
